Celebrate Spring and Arbor Day!

Spring is a great time to make a plan on how to upgrade your lawn or property. Some guidance when considering new adding new trees.
1) Right sized tree in the right location. A tree that will grow to a large tree (>50ft) will need more space.
2) Look for the utilities overhead and below ground. Consider a smaller sized tree - crabapple or others.
3 ) Make sure you dig a big enough hole for the tree roots to expand outwards. Confined roots will grow and "girdle" the trunk - killing the tree.
4) Mulch is good at a depth of 2-4 inches. keeping moisture around tree. Don't Volcano the mulch up along the trunk. Leve the tapering flare of the tree open and uncovered.
